Some of this short description is recycled from the very first blog I wrote back-in November 2007. That was & is the EZgo-Now Blog. It was the starting point and the first tangible piece of work for my new on- line business. For many months prior to that I had been struggling with getting my head around the idea of building, running and marketing an Internet Company. The basics of business building haven’t changed a whole lot over the years but as they say “the devil is in the details”. Well that devil had been dogging me since the day I started. Having been in business for many years in “the off-line world” I thought that starting a business in the “Internet World” should be similar and relatively easy. Well . . ……, as it turns out it wasn’t. In fact it was very different, incredibly difficult and the challenges it presented soon became overwhelming. One of the hardest parts for me was and still is the ability to stay focused.
There is literally so much information flying around out there that by the time I would get to where I was going I was so far off course I couldn’t remember where where was supposed to be. I spent months doing this in the name of research & learning. Sadly I was getting nowhere fast. Then one pivotal day without a whole lot of thought I made myself a short To-Do List. I think I started with Google stuff that day. Anyway I started & finished that first task. I started & finished the second task. then the third, fourth & so on. Six hours
later I was done with the whole damn list. That was the defining moment for me. The solution I had been looking for. I had been spending all of my time looking for a starting point. The beginning, step one. I was looking for one starting point when in fact there were literally dozens of starting points. “Just get Started” turned out not only to be the name of my plan but the plan itself. How do you start a 1,000 piece puzzle? You dump it out, spread it out, turn most of the pieces right side up & you just get started. And believe me, The Internet makes a 1,000 piece puzzle seem like a walk in the park.
There is an old Chinese proverb that says “beginning is half done” Translation: The hardest part of completing any project is the act of just getting started in the first place. I also believe that real knowledge comes from doing. By doing you not only learn a little each time you complete that task but you motivate yourself as well. Now you have the learning, the motivation and the completed task. As those positive results begin to add up they multiply exponentially and before you know it your moving along at pretty good clip. . So ….. If you get nothing else from this site at least take this along when you leave. “Get started, Do something, start somewhere, anywhere, Learn as much as you can, get motivated & follow through to the end”. Oh & by the way you’re not alone.
Thanks again for taking the time to check-out our efforts & I wish you the best of luck. As a final thought remember. What goes around comes around so be good & be kind and you’ll surely receive the same in kind. When all is said & done your hard work & kind words will be its own reward.
Be good, good luck & “Just get started”,
